St. Mark’s Cemetery

The Cemetery at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Chestnut Tree Road, Honey Brook, had its first burial in 1822, a full fourteen years before St. Mark’s Church was built. Vincent Trego and his wife, both of whom are buried here, donated the land to the church. Today, the cemetery is an active, well kept property. Nearly 1200 people are buried here, and plots are still available to members in good standing of St. Mark’s Church, and their families.

Individual full-sized grave sites are sold for $500. A "half lot" of two adjacent gravesites is sold for $800 and a full lot of of four contiguous gravesites is sold for $1400. A fee of $100 will also be charged with each purchase to cover the cost and installation of corner markers. Up to four urns of cremated remains may be buried in each individual gravesite. Flat markers (level with the ground) must be installed over the second, third and fourth urns buried in the same individual gravesite. A fee of $400 will be charged for the opening of a standard-sized grave; a fee of $100 will be charged for the opening of a grave for cremated remains.

Records for our cemetery continue to be collected and computerized. Cemetery management is a volunteer service of St. Mark’s, so our ability to track down genealogical information may be limited. Partial information on those buried in the cemetery may be found by visiting this website: [Cemetery Records Website Link]. This site shows the name of the person, the date of death and date of burial.
